GifBuilder is a powerful graphic utility to collect a bunch of PICT, GIF, TIFF and/or Photoshop images and build an animated GIF file, and to convert existing QuickTime movies, PICS, FilmStrips and Photoshop layers to animated GIF files.  It's considered by many to be the best tool of its kind, and has won five mice in MacUser and the 1996 MacUser/ZD Net Shareware Award in the Graphic and Multimedia Category. Animated GIFs can be displayed by Netscape 2.0 and later. They are based on the GIF89a standard, with an optional extension block defined by Netscape for looping. They can be served like any plain GIF; no need to change the http server settings, to add a CGI, to use an HTTP server, or anything else.

GifBuilder is also scriptable and can be used with clip2gif to create animations from scratch.
